Wales has qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 64 years. They beat the arch-rival Ukraine 1-0 in Cardiff's European World Cup qualifying Playoff. An own goal from Ukraine winger Andriy Yarmolenko, who headed a Gareth Bale free-kick into his net, decided the contest.
Wales will share Group B with USA, Iran, and England at November's World Cup. Gareth Bale is the captain of the national team, and Rob Page will lead the team as their head coach. They qualified for UEFA Euro 2016, where they reached the semi-finals before again losing to Portugal.
