The Costa Rica national football team has announced their 23-man provisional squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Being one of the most successful national football team in the history of Central America, they have won three CONCACAF Championships and a leading with eight championships in the Copa Centroamericana.
Costa Rica is the only national team in Central America to have played in four FIFA World Cup editions and it's their 5th one. Though they haven't been successful in lifting the trophy, they reached the quarterfinals in 2014.
Costa Rica will face Brazil, Switzerland, and Serbia in the group stages, being drawn in the Group E.
