Celso Borges began his career joining Saprissa U-17. After playing for a year, he started playing for a senior team on January 1, 2006, and made his debut on January 15, 2006. For the team, He scored 7 goals in 86 appearances until 2009. Borges was the member of the team that won 5x Primera Division de Costa Rica (2005-2008).
On January 1, 2009, Borges moved to Fredrikstad for a transfer fee £113 thousand. He left the club after three years making 76 appearances scoring 29 goals until 2012.
