Conor-Khabib Rematch in Doubt; Conor begged 'please don't kill me', Says Khabib MMA

While all the UFC and MMA fans are expecting to see the rematch between Conor and Khabib, the lightweight champion has recently shut down the rumors.

The undefeated lightweight champion, who is preparing for the title match against Dustin Poirier at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi on September 7, talked about the possibility of the rematch at the press conference and said:

“The last three years he only has one victory in amateur boxing, how (does) he deserve a rematch? He tapped. He begged me ‘please, don’t kill me’ and he talks about the rematch. Tony Ferguson on the line. People who have win streak are on the line but not the guy who doesn’t win nothing the last three years.”

Nurmagomedov said of McGregor.

The Eagle defeated the former lightweight champion in the fourth round via submission at UFC 229. He will now face the interim lightweight champion Poirier who defeated the UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway via decision.

“I have a lot of work without him. Right now, I’m focused on September 7.”

“I’m preparing for this fight like I’m going to have the hardest fight in my life,” Nurmagomedov said. “I can’t wait. September 7 is going to be a big, big night for me, for my legacy and for Dustin, too.”

But it is not Khabib who decides the fight. Everybody knows Dana White prefers Conor. So, sooner or later there will be a rematch.
