The Notorious then had a boxing match against the undefeated world champion boxer Floyd Mayweather on August 26, 2017.
McGregor will now face the undefeated lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in his UFC comeback match and people seems to have a lot of craze of him as the UFC 229 tickets were sold within three minutes despite the heavy increment.
UFC president Dana White might be quite pleased with Conor's craze and might be planning to set up more public attracting bouts. However, this seems to be too early to think because the MMA analyst Robin Black believes the Irishman will possibly announce his retirement ending his fierce rivalry with the Russian.
“As much as there is so much for each one to gain, there is also a lot for each one to lose. If McGregor loses, in my opinion, he will retire. If McGregor loses this fight, he will retire."
The MMA expert said.
He also believes if Khabib faces a defeat he will have a negative impact on his career like that of Jose Aldo.
"After this fight, the winner will be immortal. And the loser… if it’s McGregor, he will retire. If it’s Khabib, it will have a tremendously, tremendously negative effect on him for years to come."
Everyone knows the Notorious is a man with a particular vision. He does what he says and doesn't give up so easily. Taking retirement might not be the option in his mind as he is the man who comes back stronger after the loss.
McGregor previously destroyed Nate Diaz in the rematch at UFC 202 despite a shocking loss at UFC 196.
This would be so early for the Irish Mystic Mac to take retirement. We can expect a rematch if Khabib managed to beat Conor on October 6.
