Khabib Nurmagomedov reveals who he wants to face after defeating Conor McGregor at UFC 229 MMA

Khabib Nurmagomedov will see his first title defense match against former champion Conor McGregor in around two weeks period. The bout is set to take place at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas on October 6 in the main event of UFC 229.

Khabib is quite sure that he will easily knock the Irishman who will return to the Octagon after two years hiatus.

The Dagestan native has his eyes on the former champion Tony Ferguson after beating Conor. Ferguson will fight Anthony Pettis in the co-main event of UFC 229.

“I hope he’s going to win. But my opinion, this fight is stylistically a little bit bad matchup for Tony Ferguson. I don’t know how he feels after he is injured. He is 34 years old. He has come back after injury. If he wins, it’s going to be a big fight next year. One more biggest fight in UFC history. Let’s go.”

 Nurmagomedov told Brian Vega.

Khabib and Tony were scheduled to face each other 4 times previously but every single bout failed due to various reasons.

The first two bouts were canceled due to both the fighters suffering knee and lungs injuries while the third did not happen after Khabub failed to meet the weight and was medically declared unfit to fight. The fourth encounter had to be canceled after Tony tore his MCL some days before the UFC 223 where they were scheduled to fight in the main event for the Lightweight title.
