Malcom Subban is a native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, born on 21st December 1993, to Maria Subban and Karl Subban, the 5th leading scorer in Lakehead University basketball history. His older brother, P.k. Subban is a Norris Trophy-winning ice hockey defenceman with the Nashville Predators whereas, his younger brother, Jordan plays in the Toronto Maple Leafs organization.

He has a sister named, Natassia, who played basketball at York University. Subban’s star sign is Saggitarus. By nationality, he is Canadian and belongs to African ethnicity.

Malcolm Subban's Playing Career

Early Career

In the 2009-10 season, Malcolm Subban made his Ontario Hockey League debut with Belleville Bulls, playing in a single game with the club. The following season, he played with the Bulls, making overall 32 game appearances with ten wins.

In the 2012 NHL Entry, Malcom Subban was selected 24th overall by the Boston Bruins. Just before the 2012-13 NHL lock-out, he penned a three-year contract with the club. Upon the NHL shutdown, he went back to the Bulls for another season in the OHL, playing 46 games with 29 wins.

On 20th February 2015, Subban made his NHL debut with Boston against the St. Louis Blues. In the second period after giving up three goals on three shots, he was replaced by Tuukka Rask but later returned in the game.

After the 2017 off-season, he along with his teammate Zane Mclntyre were each re-signed with the club for two years, at $650,000 per annum.

Vegas Golden Knights

Subban was claimed off waiver on 3rd October 2017, by the Vegas Golden Knights. Later 12 days, he won his first NHL game against the Boston Bruins. Further, he started in place of Marc-Andre Fleury, who was injured at the time.

On 8th December 2017, Subban made a then career-high 41 saves, leading his side the Predators 4-3.

In the 2013 Wolrd Junior Championship, Malcom Subban represented his national side, Team Canada in Ufa, Russia. He played in 6 games recording four wins. In the tournament, Canada finished in 4th place.
