Family

Youngest of four, Ajagba has two sisters: Loveth and Joy Ajagba, and a brother. His family runs a bakery so initially, his father wanted to join him in the business rather than being involved in sports. As reported, his father even talked to Efe's coach to halt him from boxing. Thanks to the coach who successfully convinced his father to let him follow his passion. His father now is the one who wakes him up to say: ‘are you not going to training?

Football To Boxing

Efe started football playing for  Ughelli in 2005. However, he changed his career path and took up boxing in 2011.

He has won a gold medal at the 2015 African Games and bronze at the 2014 Commonwealth Games as an amateur. 

On 30th July 2017, Efe made his professional boxing career debut at Rabobank Theater, Bakersfield, California, where he knocked out Tyrell Herndon. That year, he has two more wins over Luke Lyons and Rodney Hernandez, both via TKO. 

On 10th March 2018, he knocked out Antonio Johnson. In the following fight on 26th May, he defeated Dell Long by KO. 

After Curtis Harper was disqualified after leaving the ring, Curtis was announced the winner, breaking the record for the fastest victory in boxing history.

After improving to 12–0, on 7 March 2020, Ajagba faced t Razvan Cojanu where the referee decided to stop the fight in the 9th after Cojanu took a knee with 2:25 left in the round.

On 19th September 2020,  Ajagba made his Top Rank debut and fought Jonathan Rice where he earn a unanimous decision victory. 

On 10th April 2021, he kissed another victory in his 15th fight, knocking out Brian Howard in the third round.

Efe is scheduled to face undefeated Frank Sanchez on 9 October 2021 on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder III
