Who will continue Ronaldo’s Legacy at Real Madrid? Soccer

From the Golden Boy of Sporting CP to the Commander of Real Madrid, the people of this generation got to see one of the best players of this era, display his magic skills with the ball of 8.65 inches diameter on the ground of almost every part of the world.

Sharpening his skills at Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo was at the summit of the Club of the Century beating the all-time goal scoring record of the club in less than 7 years. He was the most decorated player during Real Madrid’s third straight Champions League Victory with 4th in the last five years.

Recently in July 2018, The Portuguese captain ended his 9 years career with the Spanish club Real Madrid. He joined the Italian Champion Juventus FC for a transfer fee reported to be $130 million. He will now earn the weekly wage £500,000- third highest among the footballers only behind Lionel Messi and Neymar.

It’s not only the goals and trophies that he has left for the people to remember, it’s the legacy.

Following Ronaldo’s move to Turin, Real Madrid have struggled to fill the void. Initially, the Spanish club tried persuading the PSG talisman Neymar, however, the French giant rejected the approach and labeled Neymar as ‘Not for Sale’. Madrid also tried signing Kylian MBappe but couldn’t convince the club.

Both the players initially showed deep interest in joining the Santiago Bernabeu but the deal was not further negotiated.

With the pressure of filling Ronaldo’s gap in the left flanks, Real Madrid also approached the Belgian captain and Chelsea’s winger Eden Hazard. He was desperate to join his childhood’s favorite club. Real did everything to sign him and present him as the new heir to Cristiano Ronaldo but weren’t willing to pay £200 million asked by the north London club.

The deal cooled down after Real showed no interest in paying more than £150 million.

Lastly, The Spanish side turned their interest to another PSG star Edinson Cavani with the hope that the trio of Benzema, Bale, and Cavani would cover the Portuguese’s goalscoring record. However, the deal seems unlikely to be signed.

Real Madrid might have to play this season without a further new signing.

Ronaldo’s move to Juventus has changed everything. Ronaldo Vs Messi won’t be the same now. The El Clasico won’t be so intense as it used to be. La Liga’s charm is likely to faint. In contrast, the football won’t be the same.

Even though Real signs any of the above-mentioned stars, Ronaldo will always be missed. Not by only the Los Blancos fans but by the opponents and their supporters too.

Records might be broken, Stats might be beaten but it is quite for sure that nobody will silence the Camp Nou like Ronaldo did.

Thank You for the Glorious moments Legend.

You will always be missed.
