Robbie Lawler Promises Conor McGregor that He'll Stay Retired from Combat Sports MMA

Robbie Lawler a former UFC welterweight champion has responded to Conor McGregor's recent comments about him. Lawler, who retired from MMA in July 2022, has made it clear that he has no plans to return to combat sports, despite McGregor's interest in a potential boxing match.

Lawler is known for his successful 20-year career, stating firmly, "I'm retired. I'm not coming back. I'm not fighting again." He expressed contentment with his achievements, having accomplished everything he set out to do. Lawler is happy with his retirement and wants to focus on spending time with his loved ones.

Conor McGregor who is also a UFC Hall of Famer has been struggling in recent years, with three losses in his last four fights. McGregor expressed a desire to fight Lawler in a boxing match despite being retired from MMA in July 2020. Robbie remains skeptical about McGregor's intentions, saying, "I'm not sure what Conor is doing... He's retired, but then he's talking about fighting me. I don't know what his deal is."

Lawler retired with a record of 29-15-1 and won the UFC welterweight championship in 2008, defending it four times. While Robbie and McGregor have never fought in MMA, they did have a sparring session together back in 2015. Currently serving as a coach at Miletich Fighting Systems in Iowa, Lawler is also involved in charitable work through the Lawlor Family Foundation, which supports families of children with cancer.

Robbie Lawler stands firm in his decision to stay retired from combat sports, emphasizing that he has achieved his goals and is satisfied with his career. McGregor's interest in a potential fight does not sway Lawler, who is committed to enjoying his retirement and focusing on his family and charitable endeavors.
