At the age of six, Clarkson was transferred to San Antonio, Texas where he attended Karen Wagner High School, San Antonio, averaging 18.9 points per game in his senior year.

In his Junior year, Clarkson averaged 20 points, six rebounds and four assists per game as well, which leads his team to the semi-final of the Class 5A championship.

Clarkson later signed a National Letter of Intent to play college basketball at the University of Tulsa, where he averaged 18.9 points, 6.1 rebounds 3.4 assists and 2.1 steals as a senior.

During his high school career, He was honored with First team All-District 27-5A, First team All-Region and San Antonio Express-News Super Team in 2009-010.

Clarkson also won the First-team All-State by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, WOAI-TV Player of the Year for the San Antonio area (2009), San Antonio High School Player of the Year, McDonald's All-America Finalist and Faith Seven Game MVP (2010).

Goran Dragic s College Career

Following his college career, Clarkson played two seasons with Tulsa before transferring to Missouri. During his first season with Tulsa, he has been honored with 2011 Conference USA All-Freshman team.

He then named to the All-Conference USA first team and the NABC All-District 11 team in his sophomore season. He was moved to Missouri in May 2012 and named of the 2014 All-SEC second team in his junior season.

Throughout his carer, in a Missouri, Clarkson won three Southeastern Conference Player of the Week honors and named to the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 list in January 2014 as well.

After an impressive outing in his youth career, Clarkson made his debut with a Los Angeles Lakers in 2014. Firstly, he was selected with the 46th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft by the Washington Wizards. However, he traded to Los Angeles Lakers for $1.8 million.

Clarkson scored a career-high-tying 30 points in a 120-109 loss to an American professional basketball team, Denver Nuggets on November 3, 2015.

He extended his contract with the team, for next four-year, with $50 million and scored a team-high 25 points off the bench in a 120-114 win against the Houston Rockets.

Clarkson played with the Angeles for four seasons and during that time he also became NBA All-Rookie First Team, Rookie of the Month (2015) and Rising Stars Challenge participant (2016).

On February 8, 2018, Clarkson was transferred to an American professional basketball team, Cleveland Cavaliers along with Larry Nance Jr in the exchange for Isaiah Thomas, Channing Frye.
