Jessica Andrade Hopes for Title fight against Rose Namajunas at UFC 232 after KO win over Karolina Kowalkiewiczthe MMA

After the pre-assumed co-main event of the UFC 228 between Flyweight champion Nicco Montano and No. 1 contender, Valentina Shevchenko for the championship title collapsed, the bout between Jessica Andrade and Karolina Kowalkiewicz was set up as the new co-main event.

Andrade defeated Karolina via KO at 1:58 of the first round and stood herself as the no. contender. Soon after the win, the 26-year-old Brazilian has wished to fight the champion Rose Namajunas in the co-main event of the UFC 232.

“We wanted to make a statement in this fight. We knew standing with Karolina was important, so she [Jessica] had private Muay Thai classes every day. We were looking for the knockout, it came quicker than expected but it came so all the hard work paid off.

“I noticed I got her a little bit wobbly early into the first round, I just looked for the perfect strike with perfect timing and it ended up [happening].”

Andrade said at the post-match conference.

She also revealed her desire to face the Thug Rose at UFC 232 on December 9 with the headliner Cris Cyborg Vs Amanda Nunes and also told that her aggressive style could cause problems for the Strawweight champion.

“Rose is very versatile, but so am I. Push come to shove, I know technique-wise I’m better than her,” Andrade said. “Sometimes you gotta just rough it up, and no one roughs it up better than me. You saw what happened when I have a full three-month camp. If we can do it in December, you’ll see a new UFC strawweight champion.”

Namajunas (11-8-3) has not stepped into the octagon since her second win over former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 223. She could possibly return into action against "Bate Estaca" for the championship title.
