The three-time Olympic gold medalist, Shaun White is an American former professional snowboarder, skateboarder, and musician. He has the record for the most X-Games gold medals and most Olympics gold medals by a snowboarder and won 10 ESPY Awards as well.

White is also known by his nicknames, “Future Boy”, “The Egg”, “The Flying Tomato”, and “The Animal”. He has been honored with Men’s Snowboarding Half Pipe at the 2006 Olympics with a score of 46.8.

Shaun White’s Personal Life; Is He Married?

White was nicknamed as the “The Flying Tomato” due to his shock of red hair. He was arrested in September 2012 for public intoxication and vandalism after attending the wedding party of the drummer of The Black Keys, Patrick Carney.

Shaun White is in a relationship with his beloved girlfriend, Sarah Barthel. They have been dating for about five years after first meeting backstage at Saturday Night Live.

They are both musician and both love snowboarding. Currently, the couple is enjoying their relationship without any traces of separation.

Shaun White was born on September 3, 1986, in San Diego, California, U.S. White holds an American nationality and belongs to white ethnicity.

He is of Irish and Italian descent. He is the son of  Cathy White and Roger While and grew up with his siblings, Kari and Jesse White. His brother, Jesse is also his manager.

White was born with Tetralogy of Fallot, type of heart defect present at birth. He spent his formative years riding Bear Mountain and Okemo, small ski resorts found in Ludlow, Vermont and the San Bernardino Mountains of southern California.

Shaun White's Career

White commenced skateboarding at the age of six after following his older brother to the nearby YMCA. After a year, he got his first sponsorship. He was included in four Winter Olympics then.

White won a Gold medal in the 2006, 2010 and 2018 Winter Olympics in the snowboard halfpipe event. He then took a part in the Winter X Games and won a medal every year since 2002. He collected 18 medals (13 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze) in all of his winter competitions through 2013.

White later won the 2006 Winter Olympics in the half-pipe. In the finals, he scored 46.8 (50 is the highest possible score) to win. He also claimed second with a points total of 44.0.

In 2008, White won third consecutive snowboard halfpipe. He was also crowned the first “Burton Global Champion”. He took $100,000 for the event (Global Open Champ), $20,000 (1st Place Halfpipe), $90,000 (3rd Place Slopestyle).

Shaun White released his first video game, Shaun White Snowboarding in North America on November 16, 2008, became the 2-the best-selling game of 2008 December in the U.S. After his outstanding performance, White won the FIS World Cup Mens Halfpipe event at Vancouver’s Cypress Mountain. In 2010, he won gold in the halfpipe, where he recorded a, score of 46.8 on his first run in the finals.

White won his 6th consecutive SuperPipe victory and was named as the second participant ever to achieve this, with SnoCross racer Tucker Hibbert achieving his 6th consecutive victory earlier in the same day.

In the same year of December, he held the third position in the Pipe & Slope contest at the FIS Snowboard World Cup.

White then participated in the 2014 Winter Olympics where he finished in the fourth position. He became the most talked-about Olympics athlete on Facebook.

During the 2018 Winter Olympics, White got 62 stitches on his face after he crashed into the edge if the superpipe. He was named for the 2018 US Olympics Team. He won the third Olympic gold medal in the Men’s Halfpipe event with a score of 97.75 on February 14, 2018.

Throughout his career, White was named as the first to compete and medal in both and Summer and Winter Games and holds the record for the highest score in the men’s halfpipe at the Winter Olympics.

White was described as the ninth-best snowboarder in the world in 2009 March. He was also named as the Transworld Snowboarding’s Rider of the Year Twice.

White made his appearance as himself in the 2011 film, Friends with Benefits. He officially revealed that he had turned numerous film roles in an interview with Outside magazine.
