Dylan Joseph Rieder a.k.a. Dylan Rieder was an American professional skateboarder. Along with his skating skill, he was well recognized for his appearance in numerous videos produced by the Alien Workshop skateboarding company and for his association with a New York City boutique, The Hunt.

In July 2014, Rieder was first diagnosed with Leukemia. The following year he underwent a bone marrow transplant from his sister. In April 2015, it was reported that Rieder was in remission. However, cancer returned in November that year.

On 12th October 2016, Rieder died due to complications from leukemia.

Dylan Rieder was born on 26th May 1988, in Westminster, California, United States. His father, Joe Rieder is a barber whereas his mom, Dana Ortis is a homemaker. He was raised alongside his sister named Makenna.

Dylan Rieder's Skateboarding Career

At the tender age of nine, Rieder began skating, and at his 18 he turned professional. His breakout part in Transworld Skateboarding's 2006 video A Time To Shine gave him celebrity recognition. The same year, he won the Skateboard Mag's Am of the year.  

Later three years, Rieder had a video part in the Alien Workshop film Mind Field. In 2010, his video part for Gravis was released. Further, he was featured in Supreme's 2014 video Cherry, for which he earned Transworld Skateboarding's award for Best Part in 2015.

Rolling Stone credited his work in Mind Field, Cherry and A Time to Shine,  as defining moments of his career.

Throughout his professional career, he partnered with several brands such as Gravis Footwear, Birdhouse, Alien Workshop, Supreme, Huf, F**king Awesome, and Osiris.

Dylan Rieder's Modeling, fashion, and retail

In 2014, Rieder was featured in the Spring Ad Campaign of DKNY along with model Jourdan Dunn and Cara Delevingne. That same year, he made his appearance in a photo spread on the fashions of designer Alexander Wang in Vogue.  

Alongside his fellow skateboarders, Steven Ditchkus and Jake Lamagno, he launched a store in New York City's East Village neighborhood named The Hunt.  The outlet has since moved to a space on Canal Street, further south in downtown Manhattan.
