Shaun White won a gold medal in his career debut in the 2006 Olympics in the half-pipe whereas his fellow American Danny Kass won the silver with a points total of 44.0. Reportedly, White holds the record for the most X-Games gold medals and most Olympic gold medals by a snowboarder maintaining his Winter X Games medal count at 18 (13 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze).

The first Burton Global Open Champion, White won his second gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics, which was later followed by his third gold medal in the halfpipe at the 2018 Winter Olympics ahead of the Japanese athlete Ayumu Hirano.

As reported, White received the check of $37,500 for his gold medal win in 2018 while the prize money for the silver medal and bronze medal were worth $22,500 and $15,000 respectively. The prize money for the Olympic gold medal got a rise of $12,500 as back in 2016 Olympic games, it was worth $25,000.

Endorsement deals of Shaun White

Well, when the talk about the endorsement comes, Shaun White seems familiar with it, since his childhood. The prominent snowboarder had his first sponsor at the age of 7 after he signed with IMG, which was later followed by his deal with CAA Sports.

Reportedly, White endorses by Burton Snowboards, Oakley, Inc., Birdhouse Skateboards, Park City Mountain Resort, Target Corporation, Red Bull, Ubisoft, Adio, and Hewlett-Packard. Wow!

Well, wait, it's not over, as back in 2008, he signed a 10-year endorsement deal with Burton Snowboards and also signed with video game publisher Ubisoft to create the popular game, Shaun White Snowboarding.

In 2009, White's earning from his endorsement was reported to be $9 million. Currently, White is reported to be enjoying $2 million from his deals. 

Real Estate of Shaun White

With his monstrous income, White has expanded his property empire pretty well. In December 2017, he and his girlfriend Sarah Barthel bought a house in the  Hollywood Hills for $1.6 million. The 1,200 sq. feet property featuring 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms is reported to have of 50% investment of White while other is of his girlfriend.

Besides this, White also owns a house in Park City, Utah and his New York City’s East Village, bought in 2008 was worth $1.9 million at that time.  Also, he owns 2 side-by-side properties in Malibu, which he first bought in 2013 for $8.9 million and another one for $10.8 million in 2016.

But, seems White is also interested in real estate business aside from his professional career as he buys and sells his properties making himself some profits. Here is the list of Shaun White's property sales in 2017:

  • Shaun White sold his  Encinitas, California house for $7.8 million which he initially bought for $3.85 million in 2012. The house was collecting him the rent of $25,000 per month.
  • Hollywood Hills West mansion sold for $6.7 million in Summer to Robert Herjavec, which he bought in 2015 for $6.4 million.
  • The four-bedroom Carlsbad, Calif. house for $1.075 million.

As per Variety, Shaun White put his penthouse in New York City's East Village for sale with an asking price of $2.8 million in 2017, however, later made up his mind to keep the property.

White's Stake in Mammoth Resorts

The rumors of Shaun White dropping the whopping amount in the purchase of 2 California resorts, came in the highlights. However, the fact is that White does own a minority stake in Mammoth Resorts, the company that spent $38 million to buy the  2 Southern California ski resorts where White practices regularly.

Though, being the part owner of the 4, 000 acres land is not a joke. As reported, every year, nearly 2 million snow-sport-lovers visit Mammoth locations.
