Robert went to Junipero High School and played high school football there along with his teammates Marquise Lee and George Farmer. He recorded 81 receptions and 19 touchdowns in his junior year. While in his senior year, he recorded 66 catches for 1,112 yards and defeated Oaks Christian to win the Northwestern Division Championship.
He was rated as the nation's No 6 overall recruit by Rivals, while Scout rated him as the No.11 overall prospect and No.1 wide receiver prospect.
