Shedeur Deion Sanders was born on Feb. 7, 2002, in Tyler, Texas, to football royalty. His father, Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, is the current head coach at Colorado. Growing up surrounded by football greatness as a child, Shedeur developed his skills early under the guidance of his father's legendary playing career. He has four brothers and sisters, one of whom is his brother Shilo, a college football player.
At Trinity Christian School in Texas, Shedeur made a name for himself immediately. As offensive coordinator of his father's team, he threw for 3,700+ yards and 43 touchdowns during his senior year.
As a captain, he led the team to multiple state championships and a national championship. He was a four-star prospect and initially committed to Florida Atlantic before choosing to attend Jackson State to play for his father.
Shedeur started his college career at Jackson State in 2021. Although he lost spring games due to eligibility, he became the starting quarterback and impressed. He threw for over 3,200 yards and 30 touchdowns as a freshman, earning the Jerry Rice Award as top FCS freshman. His sophomore year was even better, with 40 touchdowns and the Deacon Jones Trophy for top HBCU player.
