Boxing Career

On 14th February 2002, Ola Afolabi made his professional debut against Gerard Barber. The bout was a draw. Outpointed by Allan in 2003, he was promoted to a full-time move to cruiserweight in 2004. He defeated a small heavyweight club fighter in Willie Champman and added Michael Simms and James Walton to his victims. Also, he knocked out former Cruiserweight Champ Orlin Norris.

On 12th April 2008, Ola won his career's first title, WBO NAVO Cruiserweight, defeating Eric Fields via TKO. the following year, he won WBO Cruiserweight Title, knocking out Enzo Maccarinelli. In the following bout, Ola lost to Marco Huck on 5th December 2009 via a unanimous decision. The loss cost him WBO Cruiserweight Champ from his name.

On 19th March 2013, he defeated Lubos Suda and won the vacant WBO Inter-Continental Cruiserweight title, retaining it one more time in the following bout against Terry Dustan. On 3rd March 2012, he won interim WBO Cruiserweight against Valery Brudov.

On 4th November 2015, he won the IBO Cruiserweight title eliminator against Rakhim Chakhkiyev. Following that bout, had two loss and Afolabi decided to call time and announced his retirement.
