Mateo Kovacic is a professional Croatian football player who plays midfielder for Croatia's national team and English Premier League Club, Chelsea. 

Besides playing for Chelsea, he has also played for European football clubs such as LASK Linz, Dinamo Zagreb, and Inter Milan. He has represented Croatia in their youth teams and made his full international debut for Croatia in 2013. The Croatian midfielder played for Croatia at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 UEFA Euro 2016.

Mateo Kovacic’s Career

After playing for the junior team of Dinamo Zagreb, he joined the main team in 2010. Kovacic made his professional debut against Hrvatski Dragovoljac on November 20, 2010, and scored his first professional in the exact match.

He was part of the successful  Zagreb team winning the Croatian Cup in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons. The Croatian midfielder later signed with Italian Serie A  football club AC Milan for a reported transfer fee of €15 million in 2013.

Kovacic signed a six-year contract with Spanish La Liga football club Real Madrid for a reported transfer fee of €29 million in 2015. He was part of the successful Real Madrid team that won the UEFA Championship League for several seasons.

He has played for Croatia in their under 14,15,17,19 and 21. He made his full international debut for Croatia against Serbia on March 22, 2013.
