After playing for the youth team of Russian football clubs of Lokomotiva, ZET and Dinamo Zagreb, he joined the main team of Lokomotiva in 2012.
He made his debut against Zadar during 2011/12 Croatian First Football League in 2012 and was later transferred to fellow Croatian football club, Dinamo Zagreb for a reported transfer fee of €1 million in 2014.
