The shooting guard played for the University Of Kentucky, where he is played with the Kentucky Wildcats Men's Team with the players like Nick Richards, Immanuel Quickley, and Keion Brooks Jr. He finished his high school career at the Harvard-Westlake School Team.
Though he declared for the NBA draft while maintaining his college eligibility, he decided to return to UCLA.
Johnny is an Asian-American whose ancestors belong to Vietnam and was born on March 17, 2001, in Los Angeles, California, He was named to the 2018 MaxPreps Sophomore All-America third team and 2017 MaxPreps Freshman All-America.
