Career

Forrest played for Celtic and consistently shone at every level. He signed youth terms with Celtic at the age of 13 and then joined Celtic's coaching school in Hamilton.

On 30 August 2009, Forrest signed a four-year contract with Celtic. The following year on 1st May, he made his first-team debut for Celtic coming on as a late substitute against Motherwell where he scored the third of the club's goals in a 4–0 victory.

In 2009-10, He was awarded Scottish Youth Cup, beating Rangers 2–0 at Hampden Park. In July 2010, he made his first European debut for Celtic in a Champions League qualifying game against Braga. Later few days, he won the man of the match award for his performance in the Emirates Cup game with Olympique Lyonnais.

In 2012, Forrest played in all four Champions League qualifiers as Celtic reached the group stage for the first time since 2008.

His first European goal for Celtic came in July 2013 in a second-round Champions League Qualifier against Cliftonville.

Forrest agreed on a three-year contract extension with Celtic in August 2016. On 30 October 2019, he was signed to a new contract, keeping him at the club until 2023.

At the international level, Forrest played for Scotland U19 and U21. He made his full international debut on 29 May 2011 in the match against the Republic of Ireland. To date, he has earned 38 caps with 5 goals. His national teammates include John McGinn, John Fleck, and Ryan Fraser
