Chidozie Collins Awaziem or simply known as Chidozie Awaziem is a professional Nigerian football player who plays as a central defender for Nigeria national team and French football team, FC Nantes as a loan from the Portuguese football club, FC Porto.

Apart from playing club football, he made his international debut for Nigeria in 2017.

Chidozie Awaziem’s Career

After playing for the junior team of FC Porto, he joined the reserve team of Porto in 2015 and played over fifty appearances for the club and scored two goals.

He later signed with the main team in 2016 and made his debut for the senior side against CD Feirense played on 27 January 2016.

His debut match in the Primeira Liga against SL Benfica on 12 February 2016 and was later transferred to French Ligue 1 football club, FC Nantes as a part of a loan deal from FC Porto for the rest of 2017/18 season. He made his French Ligue 1 debut for Nantes against Lille OSC played on 6 August 2017.

Chidozie Awaziem’s International Career

He was initially called up by the senior Nigerian football team for friendlies against Mali and Luxembourg and made his full senior international debut for Nigeria against Togo in a winning effort on 1 June 2017 in an exhibition game.

As of June 2018, he is added to main playing Nigerian squad led by a captain, John  Obi Mikel that has players likes an of the midfielder, Victor Moses, and striker,  Kelechi Iheanacho for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
