Vladimir Vasilyevich Granat or famously known as Vladimir Granat is a Russian professional football player who plays as a center back for Russian national team and Russian Superleague football team, Rubin Kazan.

He has played for several Russian football clubs such as Dynamo Moscow, Rostov, and Spartak Moscow to name a few and made his international debut for Russian senior team in 2013.

Vladimir Grant’s Early Life

Vladimir Grant is of Russian nationality. He was born on 22 May 1987, Ulan Ude, the Soviet Union to the family of Jewish origin and was interested in playing football since his early childhood days.

He played at the youth clubs of Russian teams such as Lokomotiv Ulan Ude and Zvezda Irkutsk.

According to sources, his annual salary is around €2 million which he earns from playing for his current Russian football club, Rubin Kazan and has a market worth in the region of €2 million as of June 2018.

Vladimir Grant’s Career

After playing for the junior team of Zvezda Irkutsk, he joined the main team in 2004 and after only a handful of appearances with the club, he signed with  the Russian football club, Dynamo Moscow in 2005

After a decade with the team, he left the club for Spartak Moscow in 2015, he made 188 appearances and scored three goals for the club.

He was transferred to Russian football clubs such as Sibir Novosibirsk and Rostov as a part of a loan deal from Dynamo Moscow.

Grant has also played for the reserve team and later on played for fellow Russian professional football club, FC Rostov in 2016.

He is currently playing for Rubin Kazan with whom he signed in the summer of 2017. He has become a regular from the club as he starts alongside the players like Alex Song and Sardar Azmoun

Vladimir Grant’s International Career

After playing for the youth and reserve team of Russia, he made his full international debut for Russia against Luxembourg during 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers played on 6 September 2013.

He scored his first international goal against Azerbaijan in a friendly on 3 September 2014.

Grant has represented Russia at the major FIFA events like UEFA Euro 2012 and FIFA World Cup in 2014.

As of June 3, 2018, he is officially in the team of Russian squad for 2018 FIFA World Cup at Russia together with Igor Akinfeev, Igor Smolnikov, Ilya Kitepov, and Mario Fernandes.

Currently 31, the Russian defender, Vladimir Grant stands at a height of 6 feet. Talking about his personal life, he is a happily married man.
