The absence of a number of big stars at the World Cup means many of the world’s best players will be missing at Russia 2018.

Some of the dominant football powers failed to make it their way to the Russian World Cup. The Europeans giants Italy failed to qualify for the World Cup, for the first time since 1958. Prominent teams like Netherlands, USA, and Chilli couldn't make their road to Russia due to their poor performance in qualifying stages.

GOALKEEPER: GIANLUIGI BUFFON (ITALY)

Italy’s most capped player couldn’t lead his team to Russia after losing out to Sweden during qualifiers. The legend will be sorely missed as it was his last chance to lift the World Cup as Italy captain.
