Arturo Vidal is a Chilean professional international football player who currently plays as a midfielder for Bundesliga team Bayern Munich and the Chilean national team. 

The member 2016 Copa America champion nation, Vidal is recently one of the most valuable players as he plays for the German giants Bayern Munich.

Early Life

Arturo Vidal was born as Arturo Erasmo Vidal Pardo on 22 May 1987, in the capital of Chile Santiago. He belongs to Caucasian ethnicity. He was born to Jacqueline Pardo and Erasmo Vidal. He has five siblings and is the eldest child of his parents. He is very close to his sister Amber Vidal.

Vidal was raised in a lower class family and his potential in playing football was discovered by his uncle.His father used to sell vegetables was an alcoholic and his mother used to work as a cleaner. He was admitted to the school but used to skip regularly.

Club Career

Vidal made his professional club debut in 2006 Apertura Tournament final playing against rival club Universidad de Chile. He was in as a substitute for Gonzalo Fierro, went on to win the game 2–1 and the championship as well. Vidal scored a hat-trick in Colo-Colo's Copa Sudamericana 2006 campaign and caught the eye of scouts from various European clubs.

A year later he switched to the German side Bayer Liverkusen in 2017 and made his debut for the club on 19 August 2007 against Hamburger SV. He played four seasons at the club being the key player of the club.

After his impressive perfomance in the Bundesliga, he was later scouted by the Italian champions Juventus. He was then transfered to Juventus on 22 July 2011 and made his dream debut in the opening league game of the season against Parma. Coming on as an subsitute, he scored his first goal in six minutes after entering the pitch. After having two sucessfull season with the club he later moved to Bayern Munich. The player is currently playing for the German Champion Bayern munich.

International Career

Vidal represented his national side Chile at the Under-20 level at the 2007 South American Youth Championship in Paraguay and was the tournament's second top scorer with six goals. He is one of the valued and experienced player for his national side. He has won over 109 caps for his national side scoring 31 goals.

Vidal plays alongside other players like Alexis Sanchez, Claudio Bravo, Nicolas Castillo, etc in the national team.

Personal Life

Vidal is married to his long time girlfriend Maria Teresa Matus in 2009. The couple together has two children, a son and a daughter named Mario and Elisabetta. Vidal and Maria first met each other back in 2008 and started dating since then. They spent a lot of time together traveling different places during their affair.

Maria is a popular face in Chile and most of the people mistake her as a model. However, Maria is not into modeling. Their first child is a son named Alonso Vidal and the second child is a daughter named Elisabetta born in March 2014.
