Michelle Leigh Calaway, also known as Michelle McCool, is a retired American professional wrestler who is famous for her time in WWE. Later in 2008, McCool became the first diva to win the WWE Divas Champion. Till now she has won the title of WWE Divas Champion for 2 times, WWE Women’s Champion for 2 times and one-time Diva of the year.
Michelle McCool was born as Michelle Leigh McCool on 25 January 1980, to American parents, Terry McCool and Mary McCool. She was born and raised in Palatka, Florida, the United States. McCool was a wrestling fan from her early age. She has a master degree in Educational leadership from Florida State University. Michelle turned professional in 2004, after making her debut on November 18, 2004, on SmackDown! as a fan favorite. She made her in-ring debut on March 3, where Big Show and McCool defeated Rene Dupree and Dawn Marie in a mixed tag team match. On July 4, 2008, an episode of SmackDown, she won a Golden Dreams match to face Natalya for the WWE Divas Championship at The Great American Bash. At the event on July 20, she defeated Natalya to become the inaugural Divas Champion.
In 2010, she entered into a controversial feud with Mickie James, the feud resulted in a five-on-five elimination tag team match at Survivor Series, which James' team won. At Survivor Series on November 21, she lost the Divas Championship when Natalya defeated McCool and Layla in a two-on-one handicap match.
Moving on to her personal life, the American nationality wrestling diva was married to her long-term boyfriend since high school, Jeremy Louis Alexander, in 2001. But unfortunately their marriage turned a fail and this couple got divorced in 2006. In between, the rumors came that she had affairs with her fellow married wrestlers among which Chris Benoit was in the first place.
Although, the rumor ended with the murder/suicide case of Benoit family. Later, in 2010, she again got married to the wrestler Mark Calaway, professionally known as The Undertaker. On August 29, the couple had their first child, Kaia Faith Calaway. The baby girl is 4th child of Calaway and first child of McCool. This couple is currently settled in Austin, Texas.
The former WWE diva announced her retirement in 2012. When asked her about the reason she mentioned about her foot injuries, broken toe, torn joint capsules and other related health issues which caused her trouble to continue WWE. Similarly, the rumor of her husband’s health was also debunked by her when she announced that he might take a retirement due to his poor health.
Despite of their retirement, the couple was spotted at the backstage of 24th RAW Supershow where one of the sources backstage mentioned that the couple was talking to WWE officials about possible scenarios where they could both return to television.
