Lierse SK

Following various youth system at Lierse, Sels was promoted up to the main squad in 2010. In the summer of 2012, he established himself as the first choice keeper over there, after the departure of Eiji Kawashima.

On 29th July 2012, Sels saved a penalty against Gent in his first game in the first division, on 29th July 2012.

At the start of the 2013-14 season, Sels was offered a new contract, but after he denied the deal, he was demoted to the reserve team.

KAA Gent

In the fall of 2013, Sels joined Gent. On 14th January 2014, he made his debut for Kent against K.V. Kortrijk, in the quarterfinals of the Belgian Cup. He led the Gent to the next round after penalties: with the game ending 1-1 on aggregate.

Furthermore, Sels played a vital role in helping Gent to kissed victory in the 2014-15 Belgian Pro League, the first-ever national championship in their club history. This success permitted Gent to qualify for the 2015-16 UEFA Championship League.
