His cousin Romuald Lacazette also belongs to the same field who plays as a central for 2. Bundesliga side Darmstadt 98 and has won caps for the France u-18 team.  

Alexandre Lacazette Early Life

A native of Lyon, France, Alexandre Lacazette was born on 28th in May 1991, to Guadelopean family. Talking about his nationality, he is French and belongs to African ethnicity. He grew up alongside his 3 older brothers. One of his brothers, Benoit is a former footballer who played in the Swiss second division as well as French fourth division and was a coach in the Lyon Footzik Futsal.

He started his football career at the age of seven with the local club named ELCS Lyon in the 8th arrondissement of Lyon.

Lyon

In 2003, Lacazette arrived at the Academy of French club Olympique Lyonnais. He remained 8 years playing in the youth team of the club.

For the 2008-09 season, Lacazette was promoted to the reserve team of the club, netting 5 goals in 19 Championship de France amateur matches. The following season, he had a stellar Champaign in the Championnat de France amateur, giving 22 appearances and scoring 12 goals.

On 2nd May 2010, he was first called to the club’s main team manager Claude Puel for the match against Montpellier which ended in a 1-0 win. On 5th May, he made his first professional appearance in a Ligue 1 home match in opposition to Auxerre.  

Being in the reserve team of Lyon, Lacazette scored 23 goals and made 53 appearances and for the main team he made overall 203 appearances and scored 100 goals.

On 5th July 2017, he signed a 5-year contract to Premier League club Arsenal for a fee of $62.36 million. He was given the shirt no. 9. On 6th August 2017, he made debut for Arsenal against Chelsea in the “2017 FA Community Shield”. Alexandre Lacazette International Career

On 23rd May 2013, Alexandre was first called up to the France national team. On 5th June, he made his international debut against Uruguay in an o-1 friendly loss at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo. His first international goal came for his national team on 29th March, opening an a2-0 victory over Denmark.  

He has also represented his nation in several tournaments in junior level. He was the part of France U16, U17, U18, U19, U20, and U21 national team.

So far Alexandre Lacazette has earned 16 caps his national side and has scored 3 goals. He is a good friend of Paul Pogba, Kurt Zouma, and Lucas Digne.
