Ansarifard previously played for Intern Campus, Zob Ahan Ardabil, Saipa, Persepolis, Tractor Sazi, Osasuna and, Panionios. He was named as one of the best young talents in the world alongside Jack Wilshere and Javier Hernandez.

Karim Ansarifard was born on April 3, 1990, in Ardabil, Iran. His parents belong to Iranian Azerbaijani family and he grew up with his three brothers and three sisters.

Following his youth career, Karim Ansarifard played for Inter-Campus and Zob Ahan Ardabil. He then played for the youth team of Saipa from 2006 to 2007.
On July 1, 2007, Ansarifard was promoted to a senior team of Saipa from Saipa U19. During his 2009-10 season, he scored 13 goals and then was named as one of the best players of Saipa.
After his diligent style of plays, several European Clubs like Borussia Dortmund and Celtic F.C. showed interest in him. He also got an offer of €200,000 half-season loan deal from FC Steaua Bucuresti.
In May 2011, he became an interest of Everton. In July 2011, Ansarifard renewed his contract with Saipa for next two years.
Ansarifard became the league top scorer in the 2011-2012 Iran Pro League season after scoring 21 goals and 5 assists. Later, he left the club in 2012, after making 131 appearances scoring 56 goals.
On July 1, 2012, Ansarifard moved to Persepolis on a free transfer with a three-year contract and got number 9 Jersey.
Ansarifard made his official debut for the club against Sanat Naft and scored his goal against Gahar Zagos.
Later, Ansarifard scored his first-hat-rick against Paykan and his second hat-trick came in Hazfi Cup. He scored 8 goals in 31 appearances.
On July 20, 2013, Ansarifard was loaned to Tractor Sazi from Persepolis for the 2013-2014 season and made his debut over Gostaresh Foolad.
He was the member of the team that won Hazfi Cup (2013-14) where he named as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
On August 29, 2014, Ansarifard signed a two-year deal with Segunda Division’s CA Osasuna and made his league debut on October 4, 2014, replacing Roberto Torres against Racing de Santander. He played 16 games before leaving the club.
On August 10, 2015, Ansarifard was transferred to Superleague Greece club, Panionios on a free transfer and scored his first goal for the club in a 5-0 victory against Panetolikos F.C. He played 44 games and scored 14 goals before leaving the club in 2017.
On January 13, 2017, Ansarifard moved to Olympiacos with the transfer fee of £360K on a three-and-a-half-year-contract and assigned the number 17 Jersey.
Ansarifard made his debut for the club against Aris Thessaloniki in a Greek Cup. On February 11, 2017, he made his league debut against Larissa as a substitute and scored his first league goal in a 2-0 victory over Atromitos in March 2017.

Karim Ansarifard then scored 5 goals in 7 appearances for Iran U-21. Later, he played 13 games scoring 5 goals for Iran U-23.
On November 10, 2009, Ansarifard debuted professionally under the coach Afshin Ghotbi against Iceland where he scored a winning goal.
Ansarifard was the legendary number 10 Jersey, previously worn by Ali Daei. He represented his national team at International friendlies, World Cup Qualification, AFC Asian Cup and World Cup as well.
Ansarifard took his first step in the World Cup in a match against Bosnia and Herzegovina replacing Ashkan Dejagah in the 68th minute.
He also provided assists for Sardar Azmoun in their Asian Cup Preparation match against Iraq. He has been capped 28 times for his national team scoring 14 goals.
