The 2015 IFFHS World’s Best National Coach, began out as a youth player and eventually converted to management after a severe injury.
Jorge Sampaoli was born on 13th March 1960, in Casilla, Santa Fe, Argentina, to Odila Moya and Rodalgo Sampaoli. He had was very passionate about football since his childhood, thus, began playing for youth teams in his hometown league.
Then at his 17, he switched to Newell’s Old Boys youth set up, where he suffered a fibula and tibia injury. Following his injury, he was forced to retire from playing football at the age of 19.
The significant source of Sampaoli’s earnings is his football career as he has not disclosed any information related to his other income generating business. The football coach currently gets paid about $1.7 million annually from Argentina national team.
He was also paid $1.7 million by the Chine National Team at the FIFA World Cu 2014. As of 2018, his net worth is estimated to be around $11 million.

In the start of 2002, Sampaoli signed his first ever professional contract with Primera Division side Juan Aurich. On 24th February, he directed his debut match against Universitario where his side loses in 2-1. Nevertheless, he had an unfortunate spell with Juan Aurich, guiding only eight matches, five of which the team lost.
Further, he went on to direct Sports Boys and later a year to the Coronel Bolognesi, where he has an impressive run. He continued with brief but efficacious terms at O’Higgins of Chile and Emelec of Ecuador.
In 2010, Sampaoli Universidad de Chile where he won three league titles and the Copa Sudamericana championship. This triumph made his way to coach the Chilean national team in 2012. He directed the Chilean national squad to their very first Copa America title, after beating Argentina in the final in the 2015 tournament in Chile.
On 28th June 2016, Sampaoli penned a two-year contract with Sevilla. On 15th January 2017, his squad defeated the Real Madrid, by a score of 2-1.
On 1st June 2017, Sampaoli was officially presented as a head coach of Argentina national football team by the Argentine Football Association. On 9th June, he made his debut in a friendly match against Brazil with Argentina winning 1-0.
On 21st May 2018, Sampaoli announced his final 23-man team; with key players including Lionel Messi, Paulo Dybala, and Angel Di Maria for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He was criticized for not including Mauro Icardi in the squad and leaving Paulo Dybala out of the playing set.

Jorge Sampaoli, 58, is a family man and was previously married to his wife Analía Sampaolese. They tied the know in February 1985. Together with his wife, he is blessed with two children: a son, Alejandro Sampaoli, and daughter, Sabrina Sampaoli. The couple divorced later.
His daughter who is already married has a daughter named Benicio. She owns a gym house.
