Jeff Novitzky AKA ‘The Golden Snitch’ is the Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance for UFC.  He previously served as an agent for the Food and Drug Administration investigating the use of steroids in professional sports. Recently in December, he was into the spotlight for his involvement in Jon Jones' Drug Test.

Jeff Novitzky Bio and Early Life

Jeff Novitzky was born as Jeffrey John Novitzky, on 15 December 1967. He was born in an American family in Burlingame, California, US.

Jeff attended Mills High School in Millbrae in 1986, and further joined the University of Arizona. Novitzky graduated from San Jose State in 1992 with a degree in accounting. Talking about his nationality, he is an American.

Jeff Novitzky Professional career

Jeff Novitzky began his professional career as an agent for the Food and Drug Administration investigating the use of steroids in professional sports in 2006. He has been serving as a federal agent for the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) since 2008.

The New York Daily News reported that he was involved in an investigation into performance-enhancing drug use. He caught Lance Armstrong's Tour de France team, and that Armstrong's former teammate Floyd Landis was cooperating with the investigation.

Jeff was one of the major sources of information in the Mitchell Report about doping in MLB. He then started working with the UFC as their Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance in April 2015. He has a strong commitment to demolishing anti-doping efforts within the organization. Back, in August 2017, Jeff and the current President of UFC Dana White talked about Jon Jones and his doping case with USADA.

Jeff Novitzky has maintained his personal life quite personally. Jeff hasn't yet talked anything regarding his relationship or love life in public. Jeff is probably a married man but he hasn't yet been seen with his girlfriend or wife.

Apart from his love life, he is mostly busy in his duties and is much committed towards it. Maybe he loves to keep his personal life far from his professional life, hope someday he will introduce his partner soon.


Jeff Novitzky has been criticized several times by certain defendants in steroid-related cases who claims that he is biased and unfair. Most of the critics state that he is too judgemental. He has often been compared to famed IRS investigator Eliot Ness. He has also done investigations concerned Marion Jones too.

Novitzky was again into controversy recently after he stated that the portion of a banned substance found in Jon Jones body is from 18 months before. He was also criticized by Daniel Cormier who even made a tweet writing "Jones turn Jeff Novitzky into his old lady."


Novitzky was also critisized by former 7-times Tour de France and doping failure Lance Armstrong as he called him “star-(expletive)” and accused him of applying a “double standard” to Jones who has been cleared to fight Alexander Gustafsson.

He later hit back at Armstrong and said:

“Lance Armstrong is probably one of the biggest frauds and cheats in professional sport, and he’s out there making judgements – I think he’s the least credible guy to make those judgements,” Novitzky told reporters, including MMAjunkie. “These same experts that are doing these studies and putting out these facts are the ones that basically exposed him as the biggest fraud in sports. So in my mind, that guy has no credibility. He can say whatever he wants to say. I don’t pay him any attention.”

Novitzky was a main figure behind the downfall of cyclist champion Armstrong. Shince then the cyclist has been repeatedly trashed the USADA representative of UFC.
