Isaac Brizuela Munoz was born on 28 August 1990, in San Jose, California to parents Víctor Brizuela and Evelia Muñoz. He began playing football at a young age and in 2007, he made it into the junior team of Deportivo Toluca. He spent two years with the junior team before being promoted to the senior team.
On 26 July 2009, Isaac Brizuela made his professional debut with Toluco playing against Guadalajara in the 2009 Apertura. He was eventually able to take the starting position replacing Jose Manuel de la Torre. He helped Toluco to the 2010 Bicentenario tournament victory. After playing for 3 seasons with the team, he was loaned to Atlas for six months.

During Isaac Brizuela's time at Atlas, he played in 18 games for the team. During his 18 appearances with the team, Brizuela scored two goals. After his time ended with the team, he returned to Toluco.

C.D. Guadalajara announced to have signed Isaac Brizuela on 17 December 2014. The transfer fee was later reported to be $6.8 million by the Guadalajara owner Jorge Vergara. His debut with the team was on 10 January 2015, against Chiapas F.C. He has played four seasons with the team and continues to play for the team to date.
