Germany has taken the lead in the game after winning a penalty. IIkay Gundogan took the penalty. Sakai is caught well out of position as Kimmich floats the ball over the top of him to Raum. The left-back cuts onto his right foot but is taken down by Gonda, with the Japan goalkeeper penalized for his attempted tackle, and the referee points to the spot. 

Germany controlled much of the first half with more than 80% ball possession. They have eleven shots on target, while japan is yet to open their account. 

In the extra four-minute time of the First time, Havertz scored a tap-in goal assisted by Gnabry but was ruled out by the VAR.
