Conor McGregor Vs Floyd Mayweather: Organizer struggling to sell tickets

The upcoming fight between UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor and undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather has been one of the most hyped sports events of all time. However, the recent news about the match has shocked everyone. 

Though it is one most discussed events at present, fans do not seem so much excited to buy tickets. Why?

A report presented by Associated Press reveals that there are still thousands of seats available for the match that is being held on August 26 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The tickets seem unsold because of the cost set by the Ticketmaster. The base price of the ticket is $3,500 which quite a huge amount.

However, the promoter of the event Leonard Ellerbe is excited with the ticket sales till now. He still hopes that all the tickets will be sold out and will be the match with the most expensive gate pass. He said:

We’re very excited and very happy with ticket sales so far. We’re well on our way to smashing our own record which transcended the sport.

Tha match between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao in May 2015 broke the previous record of the highest gate amount with $72,198,500.

There are still a large number of tickets available even after 5 days of the sale. Will the match between Mayweather and McGregor be able to break the record? For that, we will have to wait until the last. The base price of the ticket was set $3,500 but can get the seat on the ringside paying $10,000.
