Bruce Barnum is a well-established American football coach. Bruce has been working as the head coach of the Portland State Vikings college football team since 2015. Coaching Career

Bruce started working as a high school assistant coach for Central Calley High School in 1986, right after graduating from University. He moved to his Alma mater school and worked with them for two seasons. In 1989, Western Washington University hired him as their new assistant offensive line coach. After working for two seasons with the University, Barnum moved to Cornell University as an offensive line coach.

In 1993, American International college hired him as their offensive line coach. After spending one season with the university, Bruce moved to Coast Guard University with the increased responsibility of offensive line coach and assistant head coach. In 1998, Idaho State University signed him as their new offensive line coach. 

The following year, Bruce started working as their defensive coach and then as Defensive coordinator. In 2007, Cornell University hired him as their new offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. After spending three seasons, Portland State University hired him as the new offensive line coach. In 2015, He got promoted as new head coach after spending some time as their interim head coach. Barnum renewed his contract in 2020.
