Zinedine Zidane admits he didn't leave Real Madrid to take over as France coach Soccer

Zinedine Zidane announced he is stepping away as Real Madrid C.F's coach just a week after he led the Spanish side to its third straight UEFA Champions League final victory in Kiev last month.

Not long after Zidane, 45, stepped out of the Santiago Bernabeu, he was linked to taking over his national side. France under Didier Deschamps, with world-class players including; Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe, Paul Pogba, Raphael Varane, Samuel Umtiti and Hugo Lloris, is taken as a strong contender at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

In the midst of the rumors, Zidane overtaking as France coach, he insisted he didn't leave Real Madrid so he could take over as the national coach. Instead, he said, his decision to walk away from the Spanish side has nothing to do with national duty.

The most important thing is to support the team of France,

he told TF1.

I didn't stop to want to take the team of France. I stopped to make a parenthesis.

I'm behind the French team. We want it to bring back a second title.

Paris!????

The Real Madrid legend enlightened his plans at a promotional event, saying,

I've got my feet up and am feeling good.

I don't know what I'm going to do.

The most important thing is the decision I've taken, the rest we'll see.

The 1998 World Cup winner has claimed to have made no decision on his future and is enjoying his successful period as the Madrid's manager and the trophy haul.
