Urban Meyer was born as Urban Frank Meyer III on July 10, 1964, in Toledo, Ohio, US. He is the son of father Bud Meyer and the mother Gisela Meyer. He holds an American nationality.
Meyer graduated from Ashtabula St. John High School in 1982 where he used to play a defensive fullback in football and shortstop in baseball. He had a degree in Bachelor of Arts. After that, he went to Ohio State University and got a degree In Sports Administration.
Meyer began to walk in the path of his career since his early age. He got chance to lead as a head coach in 2001 at Bowling Green. Later he got the job at Utah after coaching Bowling Green for two years. But he was recognized as the football coach in 2004. In Dec.26, 2009, Urban Meyer announced that he will resign on New Year’s Day in order to spend more time with his family. A day after, he changed his mind to take a leave instead of resigning. In the same year of 2009, he was named as national Coach of the decade by the Sports Illustrated and The Sporting News. After his leave, on the date of March 17, 2010, he resumes full-time coaching duties.
On the date of Dec. 8, 2010, Meyer again announced his retirement due to the same reason of health and family concerns. Till the year 2010, he coached many teams. He led team Florida to the 8-5 record including a 37-24 win over Penn State on Jan.1, 2011 ending his career at Florida with a record of 65-13. Later, he became a head coach of Ohio State Buckeyes in 28th November 2011.
Meyer is a family person. He married his girlfriend (affair) Shelley Mather in 1986. They are living a happy conjugal life with frequent public appearances together. Shelley is a registered nurse and instructor of clinical practice at Ohio State’s college of nursing.

Shelley went to the University of Cincinnati where she majored in nursing. From Ohio, Shelley then attended the University of Colorado where she attained a Master’s in psychiatric nursing. She was also crowned the Ross County Fair Queen.
