With the 58th overall pick by Denver Nuggets, Thomas was selected in the second round in 2018 NBA Draft. Welsh has signed a two-way contract with the Nuggets on 2018 July 19. Moreover, Thomas was assigned with Capital City Go-Go, the majority of his rookie season.
Thomas also tired out for the United States Nationa Team during 2014 FIBA Americans Under 18 Championship.
