Anthony Warren Jr. attended Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire where he played for his high school basketball team.
After completing high school, Anthony Warren Jr. enrolled at North Carolina State University and played for the North Carolina Wolfpack. He played two seasons of college basketball and forewent the rest of the seasons to enter the NBA draft.

Warren was assigned to the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League multiple time during his rookie season. In the 2015-16 season, Warren was able to record his first career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds in a 107-102 win against the Toronto Raptors.
