Spencer Sanders is a rising American college football player. He is currently playing for the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Big 12 Conference. Sanders won the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Award in 2019. Spencer plays as a quarterback for his team. He was named the MVP in the 2020 Cheez-It Bowl.

Spencer Sanders was born on December 15, 1999, in Denton, Texas. He is among the two children born to Carrie Sanders and her husband, David Sanders. His mother played basketball in her High Schoola t Kingfisher. Spencer has a sister Carissa Sanders. Sanders graduated from Billy Ryan High School and enrolled at the Oklahoma State University-Stillwater. Spencer started playing American football from middle school. He passed for 3,288 yards and 35 touchdowns along with 1,099 yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground in his junior season. However, Sanders was out of the remainder of the seasons after tearing his ACL. While in his junior year, The Texas-native player committed to play for the Oklahoma State University. He rejected the offers from Colorado, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Penn State and Texas A&M.

Sanders made a good comeback in his senior year, throwing 3,845 yards and 54 touchdowns, and ran for 1,380 yards and 16 touchdowns. At the end of his High School, Spencer won numerous awards, including Gatorade Player of the Year, the Associated Press Player of the Year. As per the rule of the NCAA, The player redshirted in his true freshman season. In the following days, He was named the Big 12 Conference NewComer of Week 2. 

Spencer played eleven games for the sophomore year and threw for 2,065 yards with 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while rushing for 625 yards and two touchdowns. He missed his last games of the series after suffering a torn ligament in his throwing hand. Sanders was eventually named the conference Offensive Freshman of the Year. His junior season halted due to the COVID pandemic, and he was named the MVP in Cheez-It Bowl
