Servando Carrasco was born to Servanda Carrasco and Gloria Carrasco and raised alongside sister, Vivian Carrasco. 

He spent most of his early childhood growing up in the Mexican city of Tijuana. At seven, Carrasco and the family returned back to the United States for a better opportunity. His mother is a two-time survivor of breast cancer.


In the 2011 MLS SuperDraft, Carrasco was drafted in the second round (27th overall) by Seattle Sounders FC. on March 2, 2011, he signed with Seattle and made his debut on March 19.

On September 13, 2013, he was traded to the Houston Dynamo and then from Houston to Sporting Kansas City.

On July 20, 2015, Carrasco was traded to Orlando City SC, where he scored his first goal for Orlando and second overall career goal in a 1–0 victory against New York Red Bulls. On December 21, 2017, he was selected by LA Galaxy in Stage Two of the draft, signing with the team on January 11, 2018.
