Runar Alex Runarsson simply known as Runar Runarsson is an Icelandic football player who plays as a goalkeeper for Iceland National Team and Danish Superliga football club, FC Nordsjaelland whom he signed in 2014.
He has also played for Iceland football club, KR Reykjavik before joining the Danish team and has represented Iceland in their youth teams. Runarsson has been playing with the Iceland senior football team since 2017.
Runar Gunnarsson holds an Icelandic nationality and is of White European ethnicity. He was born to former Icelandic national football player, Runar Kristinsson who was born on 5 September 1969 and played as a midfielder for several European football clubs such as KR Reykjavik, Orgryte IS, Lillestrom and Lokeren.
Runar Kristinsson was the only Icelandic player in Iceland national football that has played over 100 matches for Iceland.
He was also the former captain of Iceland and has represented Iceland in 106 appearances and contributing three goals and is currently serving as a manager for Iceland football club, KR Reykjavíkur.
Following his father steps, he joined the youth club of KR Reykjavik and left the club in 2012. He later joined the youth rank of Swedish football club, FC Nordsjaelland in 2014.
