Bjorn Bergmann Sigurdarson was born to Icelandic parents on 26 February 1991 in Akranes, Iceland. He has three brothers, Joey Gudjonsson, Bjarni Gudjonsson and Pordur Gudjonsson who are also professional footballers and has represented Iceland national football team.
One of his brothers, Joey Gudjonsson has played for English football club Wolves, like him.
He began to play football by joining the junior local team of IA.
Bjorn Bergmann started his senior and professional career with the main team of IA in 2007 after which he signed a three-year contract with the Norwegian professional football club, SK in January of 2009.
He made his debut against Viking in March 2009 and was a regular starter from 2010. After his stint with the Norwegian side, he signed a four-year contract with the EFL Championship club, Wolverhampton Wanderers on 17 July 2012 for a transfer fee believed to around $3.32 million.
Bjorn made his debut for the Wolves against Leeds United and scored his first goal for the club against Peterborough in September 2012.
During his time with the English side, he was transferred as a loan deal to Norwegian club, Molde FK and Danish club, FC Copenhagen.
