Rex Walters is a rising American assistant coach for the New Orleans Pelicans in the National Basketball League. Walters played in the NBA from 1993 until 2003. He was named the WCC Coach of the Year in 2014. Walters also worked s the head coach for the University of San Francisco for more than eight years. 

Rex Walters was born Rex Andrew Walters on March 12, 1970, in Omaha, Nebraska. Rex rose to fame only after his successful career so, much information about his early life is under the radar. Walters is biracial; his mother is Japanese, and his father is white. Rex holds American nationality. After graduating from Piedmont Hills High School, Rex enrolled at Northwestern University. Walters stands six feet and three inches tall and weighs 104 kg. 

Rex Walter's Career in NBA

Rex played basketball for Piedmont Hills High School and rolled at Northwestern University. He later transferred to the University of Kansas for his junior year. Rex listed his name for the 1993 NBA draft. New Jersey Nets drafted him in the first round overall 16th pick. Welter played with the team until 1995 and then moved to the Philadelphia 76ers. In 1998, Miami Heat signed him for two years. 

In 2000, Walter moved to play for the European League and was part of the Spanish Basketball League. In 2003, the University of Valparaiso offered him to sign as their new assistant coach. Rex accepted the offer and started working with the university. In 2005, Rex moved to Florida Atlantic University and worked as an assistant coach. However, In 2007, Florida hired as their new head coach. 

In 2008, the University of San Francisco hired Rex as their new head coach. In 2014, Walter won the WCC Coach of the Year Award. He finished his University of San Francisco coaching career with a 126–125 overall record in 2016. Grand Rapids Drive was hired as their new head coach. In 2017, Detroit Pistons signed him as their new assistant coach. Since then, He has been moving to several franchises working as the assistant coach. As of 20201, Rex is working as the assistant coach for the New Orleans Pelicans.
