Bonner joined the Fairfield High School located in Fairfield, Alabama. where she played basketball and was ranked one of top 25 prospects by USA Today in 2005. Later on, she attended Auburn University at the end of 2005, and she earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from there.

DeWanna Bonner Professional Basketball Career

After ending her college career with the Auburn University, she was directly drafted by the Phoenix Mercury in the 2009 WNBA draft where she scored 13 points in her 1st regular season game. Later on, DeWanna scored 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists, and won her 2nd WNBA Championship in 2014.

 

 

During the 2017 season, she missed all the season games due to her pregnancy and was later named 2018 WNBA All-Star Game. From her career beginning, she is playing for the Phoenix Mercury team alongside Briann January and Sancho Lyttle.
