Olarenwaju Kayode’s Bio and Early Career

Olarenwaju Kayode, a Nigerian nationality with African ethnic background, was born to Nigerian parents on 8 May 1993 on Ibadan, Nigeria.

He started his football journey from Nigerian youth club, Marvellous FC.

Olarenwaju Kayode’s Professional Career

The Nigerian international striker began to play professional football with a Ghanaian football club, Red Bull Ghana and joined Ivorian Coast football club, ASEC Mimosas in 2010.

With Mimosas, he was the part of the team that went on to win Ivory Coast Ligue 1 title in 2010.

He was transferred to various football clubs as a loanee from ASEC Mimosas such as Swiss Club, FC Luzern on 2012, Nigerian football club, Heartland FC  for 2013 season and Israeli club, Maccabi Netanya in 2013/14 season.

He was signed to a one-year contract deal with the main team of Maccabi Netanya on 10 October 2013.

With the club, he appeared in 31 matches and scored 13 goals and won Israeli second-tier league title, Liga Leumit in 2013/14 season.

After his successful spell at the Israeli team, he signed a four-year contract deal with Austrian Bundesliga club, FK Austria Wien in 2015 and made his debut as well as scored his first goal for the Austrian club against SC Rheindorf Altach on 2 August 2015.

He had a memorable and successful time with the club, as he was the top goal scorer in Austrian Football Bundesliga for 2017 season.

His outstanding performances caught the attention of English Premier League club,  Manchester City FC with whom he signed a four-year deal on August 2017 and was loaned to Spanish La Liga club, Gioana FC for rest of 2017.

He made his debut for Spanish side against Atletico Madrid on  19 August 2017.

Olarenwaju Kayode’s International Career

Kayode played for Nigeria in the FIFA World Cup Under -17 tournament in 2009 and made his senior debut for the senior national football team of Nigeria against Senegal on 23 March 2017.

He along with  Ahmed MusaVictor Moses, and Ola Aina are some of the major footballers to be listed in the probable squad list of Nigeria in the 2018  FIFA World Cup.
