Novak Djokovic Defeats Roger Federer to win the Cincinnati Masters final Tennis

Former World number one Novak Djokovic defeated Roger Federer to win the Cincinnati Masters final. He also became the first player to complete the set of nine Masters titles beating the seven-time champion Federer by  6-4 6-4.

The 31-year-old Serbian who is a 5-time runner-up in the tournament had lost to the Swiss star on three occasions and is his first title. Federer has won the tournament seven times.

"It's a very special moment. It's the first time I get to stand with a winning trophy in Cincinnati."

Djokovic said.

The former world number one Swiss player who is currently ranked 2, would have made the 99 career titles win and would have leveled the head to head record with Djokovic. Serbian is now leading by 24-22.

Both of the tennis aces will now be looking for the US Open which will start on 27 August.

Djokovic was better than Federer in all aspects from the very first while the Swiss was struggling with everything. 

He also congratulated Djokovic and said:

"Congratulations to Novak for your amazing effort, not just this week, but throughout your whole career, it is an amazing achievement. It's been a great week, tough on the players but we had a fun time."
