Miguel Angel Borja Hernandez simply known as Miguel Borja is a professional football player who plays as a forward for Colombian National Team and for Brazilian professional football club, Palmeiras.

Apart from playing for several football clubs, he has represented Colombia in their youth levels and made his senior debut in 2016.

Miguel Borja’s Career

He began his senior and professional playing career with the main team of  Cucuta Deportivo in 2011. After a handful appearance for the Cucuta Deportivo, he was transferred to Cortulua in 2012 and was transferred to clubs such as  La Equidad, Livorno and Olimpo as a part of a loan deal from Cortulua.

Miguel Borja was signed a permanent contract with the Italian club, Livorno in 2015 and was loaned to back to Colombian club, Santa Fe in the same year.

He played a crucial role by scoring 9 goals for Santa Fe and helped the team to win Copa Sudamericana in 2015.

Miguel Borja then signed with his former club, Cortulua in 2016 and made history by scoring the most goals in a Colombian league tournament with 19 goals.

After a successful goalscoring season in 2016, he was transferred to Atletico Nacional on 8 June 2016 and was a part of the team that went on to win Copa Colombia in 2016. He is currently playing for the Brazilain football club, Palmeiras who signed a five-year contract deal worth to be in the range of $ 10.5 million in 2017.

After playing for Colombia in their 20 teams and winning the South American youth championship with the side in 2013, he represented Colombia in the Olympics in 2016 in Brazil.

He debuted for the senior team of Colombia in 2016 and is a part of current Colombian squad along with players such as fellow striker, Carlos Bacca, midfielder, James Rodriguez and defender Cristian Zapata which are expected to play for Colombia to play at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
