Carlos Bacca began his senior and professional playing career with a Colombian football club, Atletico Junior in 2007 and was transferred to Columbian clubs such as Barranquilla and Minerven S.C on a loan from Atletico Junior.

He signed a three-year contract for a transfer fee of €1.5 million with Belgian club, Club Brugge in 2012 and made his debut against Mechelen on 21 January 2012.
